ABOUT US
I am an Idaho, USA knife maker/bladesmith. I officially started making knives in 2014. My love affair with sharp edged tools has followed me throughout my life having fine knives over many decades. To me, knives are tools best kept sharp and used daily.
I am a single source maker, meaning my knives are made one at a time in my shop by my hands. My knives start life as high carbon steel shaped either through the heat of forge and anvil or by stock removal. I prefer to use natural hardwood or stabilized woods for knife handles. Brass, copper, or stainless steel materials are my favorite pin stock. My sheaths are leather or Kydex sleeves to protect scary sharp edges. All kitchen knives include either a Kydex or hand-sewn leather sleeve to protect their scary sharp edges.
I make hard working tools for daily use by generations after the original owner has passed on. Currently, I am making a variety of knife styles, either my own design or from customer designs. This includes knives used for culinary, feather/fin/fur/outdoor, straight razors and wood carving tools. I am always open to helping someone create a functional design that I can turn into a working knife. So yes, I do work with custom orders. Come by the shop and we’ll design a knife just for you. Occasionally I do make knife related accessories such as file guides for knife makers, leather sharpening strops, end grain cutting boards and/or knife blocks plus anything else that catches my interest.
I enjoy sharing my knowledge and skills as others have shared with me.
